STRIPPED BARE

The project entails redesigning a school staff-room, using the space taken up by a series of three small classrooms and a corridor.
The existing spaces were outdated and cramped. The aim here was to create a convivial and relaxing area, by emphasising the structure and the walls of the original building and by stripping them down to their bare materials. With the same idea of amplifying existing elements, the heating system pipes were painted in blue; although these certainly wind their way throughout the room, they represent the history of the place and of the successive transformations it has undergone. The round tables were commissioned specially by us for the project and were intended to encourage communication between the teachers and blend in with the structure of the place.
